Our client, a boutique independent agency at the intersection of technology and experiential is looking to hire a live events Technical Project Manager.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building the production technology budgets for range of projects, the scheduling and the delivery of all technical elements
  • Opening and maintaining IOS 9001 project files
  • Assess requirements of client brief in partnership with Account team, Digital PM, Design and Production Managers
  • Stay up to date on latest in technology to be implemented on projects (eg. AR/VR, etc)
  • Partner with digital group to provide strategy and plans based on the agreed production budgets
  • Develop the project timeline in partnership with the Production Manager and work together to develop a SOW, production and on-site timelines
  • Select the appropriate vendors and suppliers for all projects according to the requirements of the project and its design
  • Work with the venues and/or contracting team to order all technical products and infrastructure including but not limited to internet, phones, etc.
  • Act as the technical liaison between designer, producers and contractors/vendors
  • Responsible for ensuring all design changes are shared through all parties that need to know
  • Make sure all deliverables are continuing to remain in budget
  • Refine schedules as needed throughout the process
  • Monitor technical and engineering drawings from suppliers
  • Oversee/manage the fabrication of all technical exhibits
  • Coordinate technical contractors and creative teams (digital, design, etc)
  • Make sure all business, production and creative objectives are met
  • Make sure any last minute on-site change are executed within budget or are approved through the appropriate channels
  • Manage freelance operational team
  • Oversee the technical element installation
  • Oversee product deliveries
  • Oversee the setup and dismantling of all technical elements and their storage
  • Provide reconciliation of the production technology budget after the event

About you:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar live event production role in similar industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PPT, Word, Excel, etc) as well as Vectorworks
  • Practical understanding and working experience with IT and Telecoms systems and internet technologies
  • Excellent communicator
  • Working usage of technical staging, AV, Lighting and construction
  • Bachelors degree (bonus if in Technical Design related field)
  • Have managed budgets, vendors and can work multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ideally you also have: Vector/AutoCAD and PPT/Keynote experience, US Driving License and Passport.
  • You are reliable, strong attention to detail and bring a can-do attitude to any problem.
  • Approachable and calm persona.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Able to travel for up to 4 weeks at a time equating a total of 4-6 months per year of travel.
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
