Onward Search is looking for a Technical Writer with experience or interest in proposal writing to join our corporate technology client in northern Atlanta for an onsite contract-to-hire opportunity!

We are looking for a technical writer to help us out with proposals (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) and customer-facing documentation.


  • Research, storyboard, outline, and draft content for various technical channels including proposals (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs), white papers, blog posts, product documentation, SOPs, and similar documentation.
  • Work will be primarily longform in nature.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal stakeholders to determine requirements, receive feedback, and deliver draft/finished products.


  • 4-6 years of professional technical or business writing experience, preferably with a corporate, technology, telecom, engineering, or utility company. Experience writing within a highly regulated industry also acceptable.
  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Writing, or a similar field.
  • Prior experience writing for all stages of proposals (including RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs) strongly preferred.
  • An understanding and a high level of interest for emerging technologies preferred.
  • MUST have an incredible level of attention to detail and a capacity for researching, interpreting, and understanding complicated technical concepts.
  • Portfolio/samples REQUIRED for consideration and should be submitted at time of application. Please note: this is NOT a creative, marketing-style copywriting role. Portfolios/samples should reflect primarily business, technical, and proposal work.

  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
