Onward Search has a huge opportunity with one of the most major e-commerce companies. The opportunity is for a freelance Technical Writer that can start immediately onsite at our client’s office in Seattle, WA. Our client is looking for an individual who can craft elegant, customer-focused educational content. Your role will include hands-on building and meeting with partners.   • Collaborate with designers, researchers, engineers and product managers to create simple documentation for user experience patterns and components.
  • Translate complex design concepts into simple copy.
  • Create fascinating narrative-driven content in a variety of formats such as how-to tutorials, blogs, articles.
  • Refine complicated technical concepts appropriate for a variety of audiences by adjusting tone and content as necessary.
  • Manage content strategy.
  • Uphold and evolve the design guide content writing guidelines and best practices.
  • Audit/revise/retire content, making sure there are a consistent voice and tone in regards to page organization and website documentation information architecture.
  • Consistently serve as a product expert.
  • Maintain a project plan with regular communication about content updates.


  • Degree or certification in a related field (technical) or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a User Experience or in a similar role.
  • Background in architecture and information is a plus.
  • A strong portfolio that showcases writing samples with user experience focus (problems that were solved, contributions, impact to the customer must be included).
  • Solid proven experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, etc.
  • Proven skills in CMS (AEM, Sitecore, OpenText, Alfresco, Drupal, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of web standards and WCAG is desired.
  • Experience with design systems, user interface components documentation, and design guidelines are preferred.
  • Knowledge of content strategy and user-centered design.
  • Prior experience with large-scale systems and applications is a major plus.
  • Strong ability to create impactful communications across a spectrum of styles and genres.
  • An obsession to details and tremendously good grammar.
  • Optimistic, collaborative attitude with a desire for creating, planning online content, and editing.
