Onward Search is seeking a UI/UX Designer to join the team of a global tech company for a six-month assignment with the possibility to extend or convert.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing internal, web-based tools for the product experiences teams and for which no interaction paradigm currently exists
  • Working with product managers, voice designers, multimodal designers, and engineers to create an elegantly simple interface
  • Translating business needs into cutting-edge, customer-focused solutions - how will your designs make life easier for the end-user?
  • Designing user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups, and detailed UI and visual design specs for web interfaces

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related UX degree and/or 3-4 years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, information architect or similar
  • 2+ years of experience creating prototypes or wireframes for web applications, and experience working on internal portals or content management design
  • Experience working directly with developers on the implementation of designs
  • Understanding of best practices for information architecture &interaction design, and user-centered design process
  • Strong knowledge of user experience principles, techniques, and patterns
  • Proficient in a variety of design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InVision, etc.

Bonus Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present a clear rationale for design decisions
  • Experience with UX design for design or technical end-users
  • Experience with or background in visual design
  • Prior experience performing user research or gathering quantitative customer data
  • Previous enterprise experience is helpful
