UI/UX Designer

Our client, a Digital Entertainment Company, is seeking a Digital UI/UX Production Designer for a freelance opportunity.

You will report to the Lead UI/UX Designer and be responsible for:

• Collaborate with team members and work on UX and UI design initiatives for our sports, news and entertainment brands across all our consumer products including web, mobile and set-top box devices
• Design and evolve our next generation of app and web experiences helping to problem solve experience challenges, help with prototyping UI/UX scenarios and collaborate with other internal divisions such as product, marketing, content operations and technology
• Work with Design Leadership, Product Managers and UX/UI peers to conceptualize, execute, and design intuitive and functional experiences across multiple devices including tvOS, iOS, Roku and responsive web
• Design and maintain high fidelity wireframes, mockups, prototypes and specifications to support product definition and development
• Participate in ideation and scoping for new features and initiatives
• Collaborate with wider design team to maintain best practices and design consistency across all our platforms
• Help support and evolve design systems by creating, modifying and maintaining design components, elements and libraries
• Under the guidance of senior members, perform usability testing to understand user behavior and product performance
• Support senior designers by executing UI production work as needed

Musts:

• 5-7 years of experience preferably on the agency side, preferably
• Bachelor’s degree in user experience design or related field
• A strong portfolio displaying a focused body of UX/UI work highlighting your design processes, problem solving skills and capabilities
• Proficiency with design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Zeplin, InVision, Abstract
• Knowledge of prototyping software such as InVision, Framer, Principle
• Proficiency in designing across multiple devices
• Experience with tracking and management software tools like JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, Quip
• A strong understanding of user-centered design, visual design, interaction design, and information architecture
• A strong understanding of general design principles such as color, space, typography, form and photography
• Exposure to usability testing, test plans and testing tools such as User Zoom or UserTesting.com
• Well versed in the latest technologies and industry trends (from iOS, to Roku to responsive web)
• Proactive and an initiative taker - you thrive when there is a void in direction
• Effectively manage your time by working with Design Project Manager to prioritize your workload
• Extremely detailed-oriented and organized
• Comfortable with fast paced environments
