Onward Search is hiring for a UX Architect! This is a 6 mos contract with potential for extension. Client is located in Dunwoody, GA. Health benefits included!

The User Experience Architect, e-Commerce, must be passionate about creating and implementing effective user-centered design for customers attempting to make quick and efficient decisions regarding their online hotel booking. This position requires an expert knowledge of usability factors that drive user behavior for online purchases, and an understanding of e-commerce standards of measurement and performance analysis. The User Experience Architect will lead UX strategy and design for responsive e-commerce websites, in close collaboration with product strategists, art directors, designers, content strategists, copywriters, and developers. This role will collaborate with the mobile app lead to ensure a cohesive experience across client's digital experiences for consumers.

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead user experience strategy and design for e-commerce
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to create innovative, accessibility-compliant user interfaces focused on the booking flow
  • Create design briefs with e-commerce goals in mind
  • Lead brainstorming workshops and collaborative design meetings with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with creative counterparts to activate product strategies for e-commerce
  • Approve design comps and overall design direction, sometimes directing external agency partners
  • Create user flows, wireframes, site maps, and prototypes for e-commerce experiences
  • Define and maintain global user experience standards; work with other team members to develop standards for UX/UI; follow and update UX pattern library and design systems
  • Throughout the lifecycle of product development, provide review and feedback to technology and QA teams as needed
  • Attend and contribute to peer review sessions and team meetings
  • Stay abreast of new techniques, trends and competitive set products
  • Initiate, conceptualize and lead user interface design based on a thorough understanding of clients hospitality service functionality and usability.
  • Communicate user interface design implementation to technology teams in the form of detailed specifications and design documents.
  • Understanding of designing for Adobe Experience Manager is strongly desired


  • Bachelor’s degree required in design-related discipline: user experience, graphic or interface design, human factors, psychology


  • 6+ years of progressive work related experience, ideally hotel/travel industry experience. Must have at least 2 years experience in e-commerce design, responsive web design

Technical skills and knowledge:

  • Demonstrated expertise using design tools such as Omnigraffle, Axure, Webflow
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to present and defend design concepts to decision-makers
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects or activities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize required tasks
  • Demonstrated understanding of website and application development cycle processes
  • Experience with current responsive web design techniques, with supporting portfolio examples
  • Experience with enterprise-level user experience architecture and design processes; agile experience a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise defining digital user experiences using research methodologies such as heuristic evaluation, prototyping, in-lab and online usability testing
  • Demonstrated ability to understand target audience needs and business needs, finding the best balance and applying to creative solutions
  • Strong conceptualization ability; facilitate and lead creative brainstorming sessions
  • Comfortable using referential authority to gain consensus amongst disparate stakeholders in the spirit of customer-centricity
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a project team including product managers, visual designers, content strategists, copywriters


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
