This Detroit area position requires an individual who can work in a fast-paced team environment to help ideate and organize a variety of interactive concepts as part of our UX staff, as well as have the desire to learn and apply knowledge strategically for our clients.

The UX designer will work closely with the other members of the creative team throughout all phases of pitch and ongoing project work to evaluate the usability of designs and site functionality as well as explore ideas for new projects along with the rest of the team.

They will also interface closely with the account team and our clients to gain a full understanding of all project mandatories and clearly translate how they will manifest within the usability of our deliverables as well as help manage expectations with regards to probable user interactions. The UX designer serves as the advocate for our users, finding a balance between brand mandatories, creative strategy, and their respective implementation.

A successful UX Designer is an innovative designer, project leader, hands-on team player and a skilled client partner all rolled into one.


  • Create and present all UX project deliverables (such as strategic briefs, concepts, wireframes, site maps, content inventories, etc.)
  • Partner with other leads and team members to ensure a stellar final product
  • Contribute to our process and shared knowledge, and help to evolve the Almighty way of working over time
  • Audit design layouts for usability and design wireframes and planning documents
  • Collaborate with other Almighty team members and clients to ensure that the integrity of the experience is maintained through launch


  • 4+ years of creating large scale web sites, interfaces or applications
  • Desire to produce great user experiences
  • Solid foundation with interactive/online work and best practices in IA and UX workflows
  • Full understanding of how to apply interaction design and research to website and product development
  • Familiarity with usability heuristics and relevant HCI literature
  • Open to feedback and knows how and when to defend design choices
  • Proactive, hands-on person who loves a challenge
  • Strong understanding of highly-interactive web sites, applications and online social platforms
  • Firm understanding of web standards and development technologies
  • Comfort in design and prototyping tools (Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign Visio, OmniGraffle, etc)
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of programs like Axure or Balsamiq


  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
