Onward Search has an exciting opportunity for a UX Designer with our client, a consulting company, that assists clients in providing innovative solutions for their capital project life cycles. As a UX Designer, you will work on a new web-based application managing large construction projects. The ideal candidate can observe, detect user behaviors and create options. It will be important to be able to rapidly develop concepts and effectively communicate with engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Discover and design for the needs of Planners, Estimators, Project Managers, Contract / Bid Analysts, Architects, and Contractors, to name a few.
  • Rapidly generate multiple design concepts, iterate on them, and present their pros and cons.
  • Produce highly detailed, thoroughly annotated wireframes, process flows, storyboards, journey maps, and other UX standbys.
  • Conduct ethnographic research and usability studies.
  • Collaborate with visual designers and engineers (e.g., micro-interaction design).
  • Create low-to-mid-fidelity prototypes as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in UX Design.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex project schedules, solving complex design problems and nurturing multiple-stakeholder collaboration.
  • Ability to think critically to find innovative and practical UX solutions.
  • Interest in the minutia of workflows is ideal.
  • Ability to use tools such as Sketch, Illustrator and/or InVision.
