Our client, a major social media company, is looking for a UX Researcher to join their team! In this contract role, the UX Researcher will use excellent communication skills and knowledge in UI design to identify research topics that generate insights to inspire the UI design process. This role requires someone who is a pro in qualitative and quantitative approaches and techniques, and someone who is proactive in navigating, facilitating, and coordinating research. The ideal candidate is passionate about being focused and inspired to constantly grow and innovate the product.

Skills:

  • Work very closely with product teams to identify research topics.
  • Design studies that address both user behavior and attitudes.
  • Generate insights that fuel ideation and evaluate designs.
  • Conduct research using a wide variety of qualitative methods.
  • Utilize subset of quantitative methods (surveys, etc).
  • Work with design, product management, content strategy, engineering and marketing teams.
  • Clearly communicate results, and illustrate suggested design methods in compelling/creative ways.
  • Passionate about the brand, with ability to speak to the technology and industry.
  • Patient, communicative, team player that is detail-oriented.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Experience recruiting for technical roles preferred.
  • Experience partnering with managers, interviewers, and team members throughout the hiring process.
  • Technical and industry knowledge with the ability to understand relevant tech skills, target companies, engineering schools, conferences, and scholarship programs.
  • Experience with managing nuanced programs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel during peak recruiting cycles.

Requirements:

  • Someone who is a qualitative specialist or methodological generalist.
  • Broad skills in qualitative and design research methods.
  • An understanding of quantitative concepts.
  • Excellent communication.
  • UI design knowledge.
  • Extremely passionate about social computing.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-moving, constantly-evolving organization.
  • True collaborator, excited to work within the team to innovate the product.
  • BA/BS degree in marketing or human behavior-related focus.
  • MA/PhD preferred, not required.
  • Experience in applied product research.
