We have a client seeking a UX RESEARCHER to join their team. This team is responsible for providing research and testing on products to find solutions to problems that stakeholders have brought to them to solve. The right person will need to immediately become familiar with the mission of the company and use that to guide their work. It's imperative to this role to understand the business and technical aspects of the internet as well as the company they are problem-solving for. A solid understanding and empathy for the stakeholders are most important for success. This team empathizes user experience in the design and development of this company's entire digital presence.


  • Set up and run focus group sessions (one on one, groups either in person or remote) and run these studies for both generative and summative settings.
  • Use information gathered to advocate user-centered interactions and help drive business decisions and solve problems.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret user research.
  • Translate user and stakeholder needs into effective user interfaces.
  • Work with several different stakeholders (groups) to identify their needs and recommend appropriate research solutions.
  • Be cognizant of other findings and results on the team to facilitate decision making.
  • Must be comfortable presenting to large stakeholder groups.
  • Conduct user interviews and research from start to summative evaluations.
  • Able to use qualitative and quantitative data to provide more impactful guidance.
  • Make recommendations and steer the process for best efficiencies.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to build collaborate processes that create trust in the development cycle.
  • Use of personas to carry out research and heuristic analysis.
  • Able to write and report on usability studies using established testing methodologies and configurations.
  • Create test plans for straight-forward and complex projects.
  • Evaluate and integrate feedback from stakeholders to create moderators guides for testing.
  • Create participant recruiting screeners.
  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis of testing results using standard methodologies.
  • Develops recommendations based on test results. Reports on test results.
  • Conducts and coordinates Usability tests using standard and best practice testing methodologies and configurations.
  • Coordinates testing logistics including recruiting, incentives, parking validation, locations (room scheduling, maybe multiple locations, or outside vendor). Sets up and tears down usability lab and observation room(s) including configuring the software and computer hardware (camera, laptop, networking, cables, etc.). Recruits participants as needed. Manages overall experience of participants- escorting them to and from the testing room and handling incentives.
  • Provides support for creating test stimuli - producing cards for card sorts, basic HTML click paths, or paper prototypes. Arranges testing materials - ensuring that there is an appropriate number of collated copies of moderator's guides and participant demographics for the test and observation rooms.
  • Adheres to our compliance practices for user and data protection.
  • Strong ability to be self-organized and proactive in suggesting and bringing about positive change.
  • Ability to juggle multiple, concurrent projects and collaborate toward maturing the user research processes for the team.


  • Aside from being able to perform the tasks mentioned above, have a min of 3 years of moderating usability tests in a user experience environment with large teams and/or stakeholder engagement.
  • BA in a related field.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Must have experience designing usability tests, analyzing results and forming recommendations based on those results.
  • Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles, best practices, and heuristics.
  • Advanced use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Visio.
  • Proficient with Web design/coding best practices.
  • Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Full use and general application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Deep knowledge of online design principles, trends, competition, technical limitation in order to design products and relationships between suites of related products appropriately.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Web development process.
  • Proficient with setting up, installing and configuring computer hardware and software.
  • Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
