Our client, a video game company, is seeking a Visual Designer to join the consumer products team.

You will report to the Art Manager and be responsible to:

  • Partner with the Art Director and other 2D/3D artists to help to shape the art style for our consumer products, marketing, and apparel lines bringing iconic game characters to players in real life.
  • Create engaging marketing assets and implement them across web, mobile and social platforms
  • Handle pattern and icon creation for various uses
  • Assist with packaging creation and design
  • Assist with photoshoots, photo editing, and image compositing
  • Assist with creating tech packs and production
  • Ensure thematic cohesion between consumer products and other art assets
  • Implement standardized art practices for the visual design discipline
  • Collaborate with product partners to prioritize changes and influence delivery goals
  • Ability to articulate process, deliver feedback in a positive manner, and discuss design reasoning
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at one time and work with emergent projects and deadlines
  • Designers collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and act as both artistic and design problem solvers.

Musts:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience as a Visual Designer working on consumer products, branding, or marketing
  • Experience taking work from ideation to final shippable product
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of systemic design, graphic design, interactivity, layout, typography, color theory, and illustration.

Pluses:

  • Experience working directly with manufacturing vendors and preparing files for print
  • Experience in a secondary area such as motion graphics, UI/UX, packaging, or apparel design
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Figma and Photoshop compositing
  • Professional experience in the entertainment industry is a big plus
