Onward Search's client, a full-service design and brand strategy agency, is in need of a Visual Designer with 2-5 years of experience.

This person should be a “generalist” designer – with experience working across multiple disciplines (digital, print, environmental, and experiential) to develop engaging creative solutions. This person will work with other talented designers, writers, and strategists. The ideal candidate has created work in identity, branding, advertising, social media, conceptual campaigns, product launches, motion design, and film/video. You should be obsessed with an excellent design that is thoughtful, meaningful, provocative, and inspiring. This person will report to the Creative Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality visual designs—from concept to execution, across multiple disciplines (digital, print, environmental, and experiential).
  • Create and iterate on assets that reflect an idea, reinforce/support messaging, and inject aesthetic quality into a brand and campaign.
  • Push creativity, and challenge established thinking, and discover new ways of approaching (and solving) a problem within the creative team.
  • Present work to senior staff and other internal decision makers.
  • Align artistic priorities with agency objectives.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design in a professional environment, agency preferred.
  • Bonus points for working within the healthcare sector.
  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications), HCI, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to establish visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and color conclusively.
  • Experience in defining design systems that work across a larger brand.
  • Ability to communicate design thinking and process to clients and colleagues.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., writers, account executives, project managers, strategists).
  • An awareness of current industry and technology standards that pushes towards cutting-edge innovation.
  • Expert in design technologies (i.e., Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
