Our client, a premiere financial institution, is seeking a talented Email Content Specialist to join their growing team in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate is passionate creative with a background in working on a variety of email campaigns and internal content initiatives. Job Description:

  • Works with internet team on concepting of e-mail campaigns or creative intranet/internet initiatives
  • Has expert understanding of writing for SEO and web-specific constructs (ADA compliance, etc.)
  • Has strong presentation skills; able to communicate both tactically and strategically, can defend editing choices
  • Utilizes corporate standards to work under tight-deadlines and multiple managers to deliver well-executed content


  • 4-year degree specializing in communications, creative writing, journalism or similar discipline
  • 3+ years of writing and editing for the Web. Editing Style: Chicago Manual preferred (AP acceptable). Editing on all levels (proofer, substantive, etc.).
  • Portfolio: Must show editing of on-line content. Writing of on-line content, a plus
  • Demonstrates the ability to generate a greater ROI by improving the strategy and/or overall concept for the final piece

Industry Knowledge: Electronic Direct Mail for financial industry highly preferred. Maintains awareness of industry trends

Technical Knowledge: MS Word - 5+ (must know tracking tool), HTML (preferred)



  • The client is unable to support 1099 / Corp-to-Corp or Independent Contractor arrangements at this time. All freelancers will be paid as W2 employees.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
