Our Detroit digital agency client needs an onsite freelance WordPress Web Developer.

Main responsibilities of this role would be to implement key landing pages (12-18) to front and back-end site including but not limited to: software updates, plug in updates, testing updated content to ensure it doesn’t negatively impact the pages and trouble shoot as needed.

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience developing WordPress themes with an eye for detail
  • Ideally you can code in HTML/CSS. JavaScript, JQuery is a must!
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite
  • A portfolio or links of WordPress sites you have managed and developed in past

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing new features and functionality
  • Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
  • Ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
  • Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
  • Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
  • Comfortable working with debugging tools
  • Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
  • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development

Must be comfortable with some or all of the following programs below:

  • Webpack
  • JavaScript
  • Sass
  • ACF
  • GIT
