Onward Search is looking for a Writer (Millennial/ Gen-Z Content) for one of our Premier Clients in NYC on a long-term contract basis.

The ideal candidate is data-driven, and expertly knows their way around CrowdTangle, an editorial CMS, Facebook Insights, and real-time traffic dashboards. Creating articles with 10%+ click-through-rate that can engage audiences across platforms is key.

This writer will work on the editorial team and work closely with social, audience development, marketing, operations, and other internal teams.


  • Source and write multiple evergreen, highly-engaging articles daily that have a high-CTR and are able to attract audience at scale.
  • Publish article within the CMS and select and optimize all parts of the story including images, headlines, related videos, and more.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to learn and share best practices on engaging content.
  • Work with analytics tools including CrowdTangle, internal traffic analytics, Facebook Insights to analyze content performance.
  • Collaborate with social, audience development, and marketing teams on distribution strategies and opportunities for created content.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven digital publisher.
  • Experience pulling and utilizing data to inform editorial decisions.
  • Knowledge and passion for trending topics, especially in news, sports, entertainment and finance.
  • Ability to work cross?functionally and maintain effective communication across multiple internal teams.
  • Process-oriented self-starter with the ability to move a project to completion and possessing a continuous drive toward improvement.
  • Experience with content management systems and dashboards.
  • Strong G Suite skills.
